Fabían Díaz Maldonado

Fabián D. Maldonado is a Ph.D. student in sociology at the University of Notre Dame, where he is also pursuing an M.S. in applied and computational mathematics and statistics. His research interests lie at the intersection of political sociology, economic sociology, contentious politics, and technology. He is developing a research agenda on the contentious dynamics surrounding markets and technological infrastructures, with particular attention to artificial intelligence, professional communities, organizational responsibility, and public contestation around emerging technologies.

At Notre Dame, Fabián is a Lucy Graduate Scholar at the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society and a Doctoral Student Affiliate at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies. His work combines qualitative and computational methods, including social network analysis, machine learning, computational text analysis, and survey experiments.
