The Midwest Early-Career Social Philosophy of Technology Workshop (MECSPoT) is a two-and-a-half day event that brings together emerging scholars working in the ethics of technology. It will host talks and commentary by academics who take a distinctively social philosophical approach. The topic of the talks will range from concrete issues—such as alienation of “gig work,” the privacy implications of always-listening devices—to more abstract questions like those concerning the inevitability of technological progress, or the methodology of tech ethics.
This workshop is supported with funding from the Notre Dame–IBM Technology Ethics Lab.
