Biography

Hannah Heinzekehr joined the Institute for Ethics and the Common Good in June 2026. In this role, she leads the team amplifying the wide-ranging work of both the Institute and the Ethics Initiative through storytelling and external and internal communications outreach, inviting new audiences to engage with the Institute’s many opportunities for learning, research, and collaboration meant to address some of the most pressing ethical questions facing our global community.

Prior to this role, Hannah served as the Senior Program Director for Strategic Communications in the Office of the President at the University of Notre Dame. In this role, she focused on communications, event support, strategic initiatives, and special projects in service of the President.

Hannah also previously served as communications program director at Notre Dame’s Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies, and has over 15 years of advancement administration experience in the nonprofit sector, and spending time as the executive director for The Mennonite, Inc., a print and multimedia publication connected to Mennonite Church USA, and as director of communications and for Mennonite Church USA.

She holds a Master’s degree in leadership and theology from Claremont (California) School of Theology and graduated from Bluffton (Ohio) University with a B.A. in communications and theology and a minor in peace and conflict studies.

She and her husband, Justin, have two feisty, middle school age children. She’s an avid soccer fan, a lover of books of all kinds, a proponent of building a good custom playlist for any occasion, and a big fan of bringing people together for a meal or in-person celebration of any kind.
