Ethics Bowl

If you like discussing and debating ethical
dilemmas and pressing moral questions like...

A student with dark hair and a blue streak, wearing a green turtleneck, speaks with gesturing hands at a classroom table.
  • Should communities disturb beautiful, natural landscapes if it enables them to transition to renewable energy?
  • Should you help someone in dire need even if you know they’re taking advantage of you?
  • Should athletes from countries committing atrocities be barred from international competition?
  • Are you permitted to voluntarily join a deeply corrupt institution with the aim of trying to change it from within?

...then come join the Notre Dame Ethics Bowl team!

Ethics Bowl will:

  • Cultivate your ability to think seriously and creatively about important issues
  • Help you hone your ability to think on your feet and respond to questions in real time
  • Allow you to grow alongside other students exploring these same questions as you travel together to regional and national competitions

Our Team

Our coaches foster a fun and supportive team environment designed to develop each player’s ability to discern and defend moral positions in a way that engages broad, public audiences.
